Spam Detection

Hyvor Talk uses Akismet to detect spam comments. It is a powerful spam detector that uses machine learning to classify spam. All plans in Hyvor Talk include Akismet spam detection. You can disable spam detection in Console → Settings → Embed Configuration → Spam Detection.

Training the Model

Each Website ID in Hyvor Talk has a scoped spam detection model on Akismet. You can train this model by marking comments as spam or not spam in Console → Comments.

Marking a comment as spam will make Akismet learn that the comment is spam, resulting in similar comments being marked as spam in the future.

Publishing a spam comment will make Akismet learn that the comment is not spam, resulting in similar comments being marked as not spam in the future.

These actions will not affect the spam detection model of other websites.

Privacy

If spam detection is on for your website, we share the following data with Akismet:

• Comment content
• Author's name
• Author's IP address (you can disable this in Console → Settings → Embed Configuration → Privacy)
• An unique identifier (hashed) based on user's email (Akismet cannot see the actual email address)

Akismet deletes all data after 2 weeks. Read more about it in their privacy policy.
